8-4-4 Curriculum

The current Form Fours and Form Threes follow the 8-4-4 curriculum, the last cohort before the school fully transitions to Competency Based Education. This proven system ensures students are well-prepared for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

CBC 6-3-3 curriculum

The new Competency Based Education (CBC) curriculum follows the 6-3-3 structure — six years in primary, three in junior secondary and three in senior secondary. Tharaka Secondary School is proudly at the forefront of this transformative educational transition, equipping students with practical skills, critical thinking and real-world competencies.
